Breck 101 Winter Session & Summer School
Breck 101 Winter & Summer Sessions Guest service is at the heart of Breckenridge. Breck 101 helps our frontline workers stay in the loop on all the latest local attractions and activities, so they can deliver the best recommendations and service to guests and local businesses alike.

What is Breck 101?

The mission of the Breck 101 program is to provide Breckenridge’s guest service workers an opportunity to experience first-hand the offerings they’re trusted to recommend while also learning about support resources available to them as residents. The BTO is responsible for Breckenridge’s destination management and the Welcome Center, so we understand the expectations for frontline workers and want them to be set up for success.

This experiential guest-service training program offers activity outings, dining experiences, spa services, lodging tours, retail scavenger hunts and other educational activities to Breckenridge’s most guest-facing employees – all at no cost to them. The program provides these employees the tools to make the right recommendation for the right guest to ensure the highest guest satisfaction and likelihood to return.

Our Mission: Empowering Frontline Workers in Breckenridge

The mission of the Breck 101 program is to give Breckenridge’s guest service workers the chance to experience firsthand the amazing offerings they recommend every day, while also helping them connect with valuable resident resources. With the Breckenridge Tourism Office (BTO) overseeing destination management and the Welcome Center, we understand what’s expected of our frontline team and are dedicated to setting them up for success.

Experiential Training at Its Best

Breck 101 is more than a training program; it’s an immersive experience. Participants get to explore activity outings, savor dining experiences, unwind with spa services, take lodging tours, enjoy retail scavenger hunts, and more—at no cost. It’s an incredible opportunity for guest-facing employees to learn by doing, enhancing their ability to deliver high-quality recommendations.

Tools for Exceptional Guest Satisfaction

With Breck 101, frontline workers gain the tools to make personalized, spot-on recommendations that leave a lasting impression. By knowing just the right activity, restaurant, or attraction for each guest, they play a key role in creating positive, memorable experiences that drive guest satisfaction and increase the likelihood of a return visit.

Who Qualifies?

Training for Breckenridge’s Most Guest-Facing Employees

While many hospitality roles have guest and customer interaction, the Breck 101 program is specifically for those positions that are entirely guest and customer-facing located within Breckenridge. This includes front desk/concierges/reservations, sales/group and conference planners, servers/bartenders, retail employees, shuttle/transit drivers, tour guides, marketing/PR, and similar. Other hospitality positions will be considered, but acceptance into the program is not guaranteed. Please note maintenance, back of house, HR/finance, and similar positions do not qualify for the program.

Breck 101 is intended to familiarize frontline workers with the recommendations they are expected to provide guests and customers everyday. By limiting the program to frontline positions that have the highest touchpoints with guests and customers, the program maintains more value for the generous vendors providing their experiences and services for free.
